Matt Wallenstein is the co-founder, co-inventor, chairman and co-big man on campus at Growcentia. His expertise includes knowledge of how living organisms in soils help cycle nutrients to support healthy plants. Before he had 3 young children and 2 jobs he recalls something called free time in which he would build furniture, play guitar, ski, bike, and hike. He has a PhD in Ecology from Duke University and is an Associate Professor of Soil Microbial Ecology at CSU. When it comes to Growcentia he enjoys the opportunity to apply his scientific expertise to make something that people can use and enjoy and hopes to help people grow bigger, better plants with lower environmental impact.
